Diction

As you write, keep your word choice in mind. Diction is closely related to the style of writing you use.

Most religion papers call for formal style, while personal essays or responses may allow for informal style. When writing formally, avoid contractions (it's, hadn't), first and second person (I, we, us, you), cliches, and slang.
