Your Professors'
Advice:
From
Professor Archie
Tinelli, Director of Executive and Professional Education in
the School of Management:
In talking with hundreds of CEOs and
senior business executives over the years and having been a
consultant and coach to many of them, I've come
realize that business executives are looking for the
following:
1. Absolutely keep it brief - they have no time for lengthy
papers.
2. Get to the point, and do it quickly - they want to know the
end game
early.
3. Consider and evaluate the options, then make a
recommendation - they
want to know you've considered the alternatives and what you
suggest they
do about it.
4. Know your audience - this is a must, if you want them to
understand, you
must first understand what they care about and make sure you
speak to their
concerns and perspectives. |
