Two More Important Things to Remember

Keep these two primary semiotic principles in mind.

1) Meaning is found in relation to other things (both similar and different) with other signs in the system. You can not do an analysis of something in isolation.

2) Truth is a social construct that mediates between us and the world we experience. These constructs reflect the value of their builders, not nature or logic.
