CIP Course Details

EDUC 606: Education and Culture. (3 credits).

Prerequisite: Admission to the Graduate School of Education or permission of instructor.

Educational practitioners learn to use the Cultural Inquiry Process (CIP) as a way to understand and address puzzlements they have in culturally diverse educational environments. The CIP uses a reflective action research framework and draws on research in educational anthropology and related fields. Practitioners acquire alternative ways of viewing educational processes, learn skills in analyzing and reflecting on educational settings, and develop strategies to improve educational practice.

EDUC 606 is offered as part of the ASTL Program by the Graduate School of Education at George Mason University.
