CIP studies are reports by educatiors who used the CIP in the EDUC 606 course to examine cultural influences related to their practice; all proper names in the studies are pseudonyms.

CIP studies included on the CIP Web site as of 2004 are listed below alphabetically by author. They can also be accessed from the relevant pages among steps 3, 4, and 5 through the Related Success Stories and CIP Studies links.

Note: As part of the revision of the CIP Web site in 2004, a 7th step (Write a report of your CIP study) was added to the CIP to make the writing component more explicit. All the studies listed below were conducted using the previous 6-step Cultural Inquiry Process, although they also implicitly followed the current 7th step.

Cox, Deborah	The Study of Martin (2001) An investigation about a 4-year-old Somalian boy who experienced language problems in a preschool special education program.
Crosby, Connie	A Cultural Inquiry of Maria (2003) An examination of the reasons for a sixth grade Mexican American girl's lack of progress in mathematics and other subjects.

Hall, Bonnie	Positive Discipline and Assertive Discipline (2000) An examination of the culture of a 2nd grade classroom related to the use of two discipline systems.
Holland, Penelope	A Case of Sue (2001) A study of a quiet Mongolian girl who was struggling in a mainstream 8th grade geography class after exiting the ESL program.
Hoover, Jean	Why Don't They Get It? (2000) An examination by a math resource teacher of ways to help elementary mathematics teachers balance the needs of a diverse, low-income population with the pressures of state standards and exams.
Jeffress, Paula D.	Tough Transition for José (2004) An investigation about a 9-year-old boy, recently immigrated from El Salvador, whose behavior in his 2nd grade class puts him in jeopardy of being labeled "emotionally disturbed."
Johnson, Susan J.	Hidden Culture -- Finding the Individual (2002) Inquiries into the influences that family and culture had on the verbal and writing skills of several pre-kindergarten students: Pakistani twins and a girl born of Ghanaian parents.

Schultz, Monica	The Application of the Cultural Inquiry Process in an Autistic Child’s Education and Peer Relations (2003) An inquiry into the process of helping an 8th grade autistic boy of European American descent transition from a small special education class setting to larger regular classes.
