Steps: 4 Gather Information > 4.4-Experiences & Meanings > 4.4.1-Influences Outside School

4.4.1 Gather information about influences on students from outside school.

Gathering information about influences on individual students outside school obviously would require data collection outside your school. Sources of information would vary depending upon your particular focus. Interviews with students, parents, community leaders, or service providers might be helpful. Direct examination of circumstances outside school might also be helpful. For example, depending on your focus, you might examine television or movies, laws, the economic structure of a community, or transnational communication and transportation patterns.

If you haven't read the CIP pages for Step 4 or Step 4.4, please do so because they provide information about gathering information for your CIP project.
