Known Issues

  1. Changes to ERIC: The Educational Resources Informational Center (ERIC) Web site was restructured during 2004. As a result, there may be some changes to the range of journals covered by the ERIC database from 2004 onwards. Check with your instructor or librarian for up-to-date information.

You can reach the ERIC database online through the GMU library (and other university libraries) or at the ERIC Website. *Note: the GMU library access to ERIC provides a more flexible and powerful search engine than the ERIC site.

The journal Anthropology and Education Quarterly is an important source of information relevant to the CIP. If it is no longer indexed in the ERIC database, you can identify relevant articles from that journal by searching the Anthropological Literature database, which is available online through the GMU library . Note: if you do an “advanced search” in this database, you can limit your search to particular journals.

If a CIP Resources link does not function, notify Evelyn Jacob at ejacob@gmu.edu.

  1. The "refine search" option on the Search Results page located in the Search Engine Tools does not currently work. This problem is under investigation.
  1. There are two known problems when using the CIP website under Netscape 4.7:
    • Text cannot be copied and pasted.
    • Links to the Guidebook References from the CIP Steps pages open the References page, but do not scroll the screen to the appropriate reference citation.

These problems do not occur when using Internet Explorer, or later releases of Netscape (such as 6.2.3). If possible, avoid using the CIP website with Netscape 4.7.
