What
is a Portfolio?
A portfolio is generally a collection of materials that represents
a body of work.
New Century College Integrative Studies students create a number of
portfolios, with varying requirements, depending upon the course and learning
objectives.
For example, Integrative Studies students construct various portfolios
of course work, accompanied by comments and reflections on their learning
experiences. In the portfolios, the students also discuss the competencies
they have acquired and enhanced in creating this body of work.
The first portfolio freshmen construct in the New Century College Integrative
Studies program is composed of the body of work for NCLC 110 - Community
of Learners, and reflections on the work. The final one for Integrative
Studies students is the graduation
portfolio.
