Excursions Page

Tentative Schedule of Events:

During the four weeks the class is in Milan, we will accomplish the following items.  This syllabus is subject to change according to availability of Italian guest lecturers, transportation, and tours.  The following dates are tentative and will be finalized upon notification of availability by Italian faculty.  This notification may not occur until we are actually in Italy, so please be prepared to be flexible. Classes will run from 10-noon unless otherwise noted. Computer Lab Activities will generally run between the hours of 1-5pm.

    Malpensa to Milano
  • take the Red Line to the Turro Stop (about 5 mins from dorms)

  • From Linate Airport, take a taxi.

  • Class meeting at 7:00 pm at the dorms then dinner on our own/together

  • Benvenuto a Milano!

 

  • Today we go Out and About!

  • Purchase a cell phone & SIM Card if needed.

4 Mo

  • Breakfast M-F is from 7:30-9am. Plan accordingly.

  • Movie in Room 5. (begins at 10:30 at school) Leave dorms by 9:30

  • Italian Language Lesson in the afternoon with Elisa Ramponi

  • 7 pm: Attend Milan Summer School's Welcome Party, meet other study abroad students and eat a light dinner. MUST bring Yellow Card

  • Watch Roma, Aperta Citta

  • trip to Chiaravalle (click here)
    leave UofM at 2pm
  • Mercato di Viale Papiniano (leave the dorms at 9:00)

  • Visit to a 12th century Abbey, currently run by Monks. Find monk-made beer, soaps, and religious artifacts in their gift store.

  • Duomo to Corvetto on the yellow line; Bus 77 toward Poasco

  • Meet in kitchen at 6:30pm to prepare dinner

  • At the Castello, you will have the opportunity to see work by Michelangelo and only feet away view an art piece signed by daVinci!
