University
Writing Center
The University Writing Center, physically located in Robinson
A114, offers one-to-one or small group conferencing sessions
on all stages of writing. Trained graduate and undergraduate
tutors help clients develop their own strategies for overcoming
writer's block; responding to assignments; developing, focusing,
and organizing ideas; revising; and editing. Call 703-993-1200
for hours and/or to make an appointment. In addition to one-on-one
tutoring, the Writing Center also provides On-Line
Tutoring (OWL). The OWL offers writing guidance over
e-mail.
Student
Technology Assistance & Resource Center (STAR)
The STAR Center's mission is to provide opportunities for students
to develop their information technology skills, presently to
include Multimedia, Internet Connectivity, Video (digital and
analog), Desktop Publishing, Presentation, and Web Authoring.
STAR brings together technology training, skills, equipment,
software, and experienced students creating a one-stop shop
for students interested in learning about technology. The Center
is located in Johnson Center 229.
GMU's
Nonfiction Universe
An online resource for nonfiction writers and teachers as maintained
by the GMU English Department.
ITU
(Information Technology Unit) Support Center
The ITU Support Center provides technical support for computing,
network, and phone issues for the University community. The
Center is located in Innovation Hall 233, and telephone support
is available Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm at
703-993-8870.
Web
Development at GMU
This site provides guidance and resources for web development
and design.
Career
Services
University Career Services,
located in SUB I, Room 348, is open Monday through Friday from
8:00am to 5:00pm (Thursdays until 7:00pm), and can be contacted
at 703-993-2370. University Career Services annual publication, Moving
On, is a valuable resource for preparing to job search,
compose a resume and cover letter, and apply to graduate school.
The School of Management
Career Services, located in Enterprise 008, can be contacted
at 703-993-1880.
Office of Disability Services
The mission of the Office of Disability Services (ODS) at Mason is
to facilitate equal access for students with disabilities to
university programs, events, and services. The DRC is committed
to upholding the legal, ethical, and philosophical principles
of the Americans
with Disabilities Act of 1990 by providing reasonable accommodations
and services that will help ensure that students with disabilities
