SYLLABUS ASSIGNMENTS

Reader's Theater

Check immediately below for group assignments. Meet with your group online using NetMeeting whiteboard and create a Reader's Theater. The subject of the Reader's Theater is the following: explain Howard Gardner's theory in such a way that it would be understood by a lay person. Once the Reader's Theater is completed, it will be preformed in class on 2/28.

Netmeeting tools to use for this assignment are the whiteboard and chat. If you are having trouble with the tool feel free to contact Shane by e-mail or (for those of you brave enough to venture ahead) try a virtual office visit in Tapped In.

  1. Check above for your group assignments.
  2. Each group member should select one simulation to evaluate and spend some time interacting with it.
  3. A list stating the group #, member's names and site choice should be compiled.
  4. Top member of each group should e-mail this list to Shane by 3/13.
  5. During the week of 3/13-3/19, each group should meet with Shane in Tapped In to discuss the simulations and the course in general. This should be during office hours if at all possible. I can schedule a group every half hour on a first come first serve basis.

Here are some questions to consider when evaluating your simulation:

  • Is this a simulation? Why or why not?
  • Is this a good use of the Web? Why or why not?
  • What are the advantages of using the Web for this simulation?
  • What are the disadvantages?
