The second half of class covered the material in Luenberger, pages 316 through 328.  You should read that section.  There is also a discussion in the Schaum’s outline series, but it is a bit more opaque (chapter 19, page 453).

Three question (question 1 has two equations), equal weighting each problem.

b.      Determine whether the system is stable by linearizing the system around the equilibrium points.
