This guide will help you achieve success as a writer during your learning experiences in New Century College and beyond. Because of the distinctive nature of learning communities, you will be asked to write a great deal, for a variety of audiences and purposes.

The courses offered in the New Century College emphasize active learning and are writing intensive.

You will engage in writing, individually and in groups, to help you learn, to demonstrate your learning and to reflect on your learning experiences and competencies.
The courses also involve learning and writing from multiple perspectives and disciplines and negotiating knowledge boundaries. Your ultimate goal as a New Century student is to use writing not only to make meaning of the knowledge you are acquiring, but also to integrate and connect what you are learning across disciplinary boundaries.
