. Plagiarism and the Internet
All material on the Internet is copyrighted, whether or not you see a copyright symbol: ©

When you are creating a Web page, you should not copy images and post them on your own Web page unless they are advertised as free. If the material does not say "free," assume it is not. Freeware clipart is available on some Web sites for you to use. You can use shareware for a limited time, but if you continue to use it, you must pay.

You can create links to other Web pages, but you cannot copy the pages and post them on your own page. Getting permission to link is strongly advised, since many Web sites have specific criteria.

If you use information or graphics from the Internet in your work, you must give credit to the sources. This material includes, but is not limited to, e-mail, newsgroup material, information from Web sites, including graphics.

As with other sources, you are allowed to quote small portions of information from the Internet, providing you give credit.  When there is too much  information from sources, you cannot claim ownership of the product.

Do not quote from or forward someone else's electronic communication without permission.
