Hypertext Essay Introduction People make meaning through association, and some of the most powerful associations we have are with places--the place where one's family comes from, the place where one learned to bodysurf or bake bread or bait a hook, the place where one was wounded or healed, the place where one worked in earnest, chanted in protest, or sang for joy. As part of Unit IV's exploration of Self as Citizen, this assignment asks you to present a hypertext essay on a place that has helped shape your notions of citizenship. The place can be public or private, but it should be important to you for some reason. It should be a place that has helped define who you are by informing your personal values and beliefs. |
