Proposal for Web-based Multimedia Cyberculture Project

Date:

To: [Insert Professors' names]

From: names and email addresses.  Please include the names and email addresses of all group members.  Only one submission is required per group.  All should post it on their Web pages.]

Subject of Group Project:

Why we are developing a site on this topic and why it should be beneficial to us : [If you are not vested in your topic, chances are your incentive to research, summarize and analyze the resources will be weak.]

Intended audience: Think about what kinds of people or groups might be members of this cyberculture.  Why might they want to visit your site?

Elements in project:  What do you envision your cyberculture Web site will look like (graphics, style considerations, content)? Try to be as specific as possible, even though you are in the planning stages.  You need to do preliminary research and look at how other sites related to this culture are designed and what elements they include?
(We will be asking to see your site plan as your project progresses.)

A preliminary list of  Web and other resources you might include in your Web site:

Why you think these resources are credible: This section should show your understanding of the complexities of what makes a source credible or not credible. You will have to be discerning about the sources you select.  You will reject many before you decide on the "best." Give an overview of the criteria you used to decide these sources are credible and the major reasons why you selected these as the "best."  Be specific.  Don't "lump" all of the sites together when assessing their credibility. Credibility criteria is also influenced by the reasons the reader may find the site useful.  Review criteria for evaluating Web resources, and criteria for non-Web resources. For a more extensive list of ways to evaluate Web resources, see these guidelines.  Cite all sources.  We prefer APA style.

Role of each member of the group:  Include the name and responsibilities of each member of the group.
