Date: To: Professors Virginia Montecino and Lesley Smith From: Please include the names and email addresses of all group members. Only one submission is required per group. Post it the appropriate Townhall folder. Subject of Group Project: Why we are researching this topic and why it should be beneficial to us : [If you are not vested in your topic, chances are your enthusiasm for your research and analysis will be minimal. Don't spend the whole semester choosing to be bored.] Intended audience: Think about what kinds of people or groups might benefit from your information, and why. Elements in project: How do you envision your Web project (graphics, style considerations, content)? Try to be as specific as possible, even though you are in the planning stages. You will need to conduct some preliminary research and study other Web sites to figure out these elements. A preliminary list of research resources (text, Web, interviews, other) you might include in your report: Why you think these resources are credible: This section should demonstrate how well you understand the complexities of judging whether a source is credible or is not credible. You will have to be discerning about the sources you select. You will reject many before you decide on the "best." Give an overview of the criteria you used to decide these preliminary sources are credible and the major reasons why you selected these as the "best." Be specific. Don't "lump" all of the sites together when assessing their credibility. Credibility criteria are also influenced by the reasons the reader may find the site useful. Review criteria for evaluating Web resources, and criteria for non-Web resources. For a more extensive list of ways to evaluate Web resources, see these guidelines. Cite all sources. We prefer APA style. Role of each member of the group: Include the name and responsibilities of each member of the group. |
