Child Health 2000 Congress and
Exposition
International Pediatric Nursing Conference
Program
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the International Pediatric Nursing Conference within Child Health 2000 is two-fold:
- to bring together pediatric nursing leaders and pediatric nursing clinicians, educators and researchers in order to promote the dialogue that benefits the health and well-being of children locally, nationally and world-wide;
and
- to update participants on advances in clinical practice, nursing research and health policies that affect children and their families.
Children and families today are confronted with a number of environmental, social and economic conditions that challenge their health and happiness. Problems such as social violence, epidemics such as AIDS, diseases such as cancer, physical symptoms such
as pain are not confined to particular countries or regions of the world but rather they are among common, tragic conditions that all pediatric care providers have come to know. These conditions cut across geographic regions, ethnic groups and social clas
ses, and it is beneficial for providers from developed nations and developing nations to share their values, expertise and wisdom. The International Pediatric Nursing Conference of Child Health 2000 Congress and Exposition will provide the forum for these
discussions and address topics of significance to nursing of children that are shared by the participants.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES:
