Composer Tutorial - Inserting Images
Important!
to read Fair Use Guidelines for Creating Multimedia Projects
Inserting an Image
- Open your browser (Netscape
or Internet Explorer).
- Go to the slide where
you want to insert the image.
- Click on Insert >
Image
- Enter the location and
name of the image file in the "Image Properties" box (example: c:/my_images/lacy.jpg)
and click on the "Apply" button and then click on the "OK"
button.
NOTE: If you
do not know the name of your image file, click on the "Choose File"
button
to
locate the file.
Image Resize
Note: The image will appear in the size you specify when it is viewed using
Netscape Composer. To have the image display in this same size when viewed
with other browsers, the image must be re-sized in a graphics program like
Adobe Photoshop.
- Move your mouse pointer
over the image and RIGHT-click.
A drop-down menu will
appear.

- Click on "Image
Properties."
The "Image Properties" box will appear.
- Enter the height and width
you want for the image display in pixels (72 pixels are equivalent to one inch).
| NOTE: |
Click in the check
box next to "Constrain" if you want the ratio of height to width
to remain the same. If you choose not to select this option, your image
may appear distorted when you re-size it.
|
- Click on the "APPLY" button and then click on the "OK" button.
Position Text around an Image
- Move your mouse pointer
over the image and RIGHT-click.
A drop-down menu will appear.

- Select "Image Properties."
The "Image Properties" box will appear.
- Click on the button representing
the way you want the text positioned with the image and click on the "Apply" button and then on the "OK" button.
| NOTE: |
The
first five buttons are useful if you want
to
position a short caption next to the image. The sixth and seventh buttons
allow you
to specify text wrapping. |
