Interactive Textual Production and Presentation

Introduction
How interactive a text can you create? How creatively can you manipulate words (physically, intellectually, affectively) and still generate meaning? How thoroughly can you astonish us with your originality?

Please surprise & delight & thrill & awe us with the dynamism of your final assignment. That's it...

...well, not quite - see <production> and <presentation> below...

Production includes:

  • at least eight to ten interlinked screens
  • the provision of at least two routes of navigation into, through & around your textual production (of which one must be non-linear)
  • the creative application of meaning-making textual effects
  • content-building audience interaction
  • a link to your hypertext manifesto
  • fun (please!)

The production earns 75% of the project grade

Presentation (individual) lasts 5 to 7 minutes and does not bore the audience.

Remember:

  • rehearse
  • identify the most presentation-friendly aspects of your production
  • craft a rhetorically memorable introduction and conclusion
  • work from notes explicitly designed for the presentation (do not - we entreat you - read your screens)
  • rehearse
  • order any additional equipment you may require as promptly as you can
  • prepare a back-up version of your presentation in case any aspect of the technology you plan to use collapses
  • time precisely your presentation
  • rehearse

The presentation earns 25% of the project grade
