Poetry Please

Play? In class? Yes, well, without playfulness, without wit, without accident, contingency, serendipity (and, of course, the attentiveness to recognize what each offers) art would be (a lot of art is) somewhat dull. And the artist's life would be even duller.

We'd like to exercise our attentiveness to the random and unexpected:

  • each person in class will work with one random poetry generator below
  • each person in class will create a poem, either a found poem spit out whole by one of the generators using your input or a poem built out of the best lines from several random poems built using your input
  • each person will complete his/her poem in fifteen minutes
  • each person will perform his/her poem to the class

That's it. Good Luck.
